Core Occupational & Rehabilitation Programs: Group Format

  

Day One

  • Round Table Discussion of COR Allied Health Provider Group Participants based on referral. Specialist Review and Advice to Allied Health Providers (re Previous Procedural Interventions, Pain Medications etc and their impact on participant’s presentation)
  • COR Cognitive Behavioural Assessment with Clinical Coordinator
  • COR Specific Function Test with Exercise Physiologist/Physiotherapist
  • COR Manual Handling and/or Work Station Assessment with Physiotherapist
  • Patient Education - Introduction to Persistent Pain/Complex Musculoskeletal Injury – Common Types, Causes, Prognosis and Studies
  • Identification of contributing factors to presentation - physical, psychosocial and environmental/vocational and summarise case formulation  

Group Education - Clinical Coordinator

  • Assessment of participant within Group Dynamics  
  • Persistent Pain/Complex Musculoskeletal Injury - Goal Setting Strategies and Achievement
  • Goal Setting - Individual identification and discussion
  • Clinical Coordinator - Active decision making processes

  

Day Two

  • Patient Education - Mastering Musculoskeletal Injury
  • Patient Education and Activity - Core Stability - what it is, how to develop it

Group Education - Clinical Coordinator

  • Idiopathic Persistent Pain - Cognitive, Functional, and Lifestyle Skills required (Biopsychosocial approach)  

Group Education - Physiotherapist - Occupational Health

  • Lifestyle Modification - Activities of Daily Living (Work Stations)
  • Lifestyle Modification - Activities of Daily Living (Manual Handling)

  

Day Three

Clinical Psychologist - Group Education

  • Pain and Cognitive Stress management - Clinical Psychologist
  • Cognitive-Behavioural Restructuring Principles and Goal Setting
  • Relationship and Communication issues with Pain
  • Progressive Muscle relaxation training and pain control

  

Day Four

Group Education with Exercise Physiologist/Physiotherapist

    • Exercise Principles and Self-monitoring
  • Exercise with Chronic Conditions and/or Injuries
  • Functional Restoration and Overcoming Exercise Barriers
  •  Functional Restoration and Overcoming Exercise Barriers Continued

Individualised Format– Physiotherapist/Exercise Physiologist

  • Individualised Clinical Core Stability and Functional Exercise Programs

  

Day Five

  • COR Specialist Pain Medication Assessment – Pain/Neuro Specialist
  • COR Cognitive Behavioural Reassessment – Clinical Coordinator
  • COR Specific Function Reassessment– Exercise Physiologist/Physiotherapist
  • COR Manual Handling and/or Work Station Reassessment - Physiotherapist
  • Individualised Format – All Interdisciplinary Health Providers
  • Round Table Discussion of COR Allied Health Provider Group Participants based on referral. Specialist Medical Review and Advice to Allied Health Providers (re Previous Procedural Interventions, Pain Medications etc and their impact on participant’s presentation)
  • Group Hydrotherapy Session 1 hr

Review and consolidation of Principles

  •  Injury Education
  •  Cognitive-Behavioural Strategies
  •  Progressive Exercise and Pacing
  •  Lifestyle Modification
  • Individual Summary - Clinical Coordinator to finalise report and ongoing recommendations for 10 Day program candidates, and send to Customer Advisor/ Referrer electronically, prior to further discussion and required approval process.
